Bioremodeling with immediate tightening effect

IBSA, a leading pharmaceutical company in the production of hyaluronic acid, present PROFHILO a new ally against aging, which nourishes the dermal cells and restores firmness of the skin.

Profhilo® is manufactured by IBSA Farmaceutici Italia in the U.S FDA approved site in Italy and distributed in the UK & Irelandby HA-Derma Ltd. It is the first stabalised hyaluronic acid (HA) based product which is manufactured without the use of chemical cross-linking agents (BDDE) and is used for skin remodelling and treating skin laxity, not just for filling lines and wrinkles.

According to the makers, it delivers dramatic improvement in tissue quality, even in challenging areas, and is complementary to other aesthetic treatments and dermal filler procedures. It is considered to be safe, effective and ‘a true breakthrough’ in anti-ageing medicines.

Profhilo diffuses within the tissue after injection and over the period of 4 weeks it stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin. It doesn’t need to be massaged and leaves no nodules. Due to the its high spread ability, only 5 injection points on each side of the face are needed, which means patients find the treatment much more comfortable. PROFHILO shows a significant improvement of the skin parameters and a noticeable aesthetic outcome.

Based on these characteristics PROFHILO represents an intriguing new paradigm for skin restoration and improvement in skin laxity. PROFHILO has a significant potential for synergistic combination with conventionally crossed linked fillers to finesse volumetric results.

The Procedure

During the treatment we inject the product using very fine needles in five specific points on the face that Profhilo call the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAPs). The BAP technique is seen as the optimum method for placement of the HA. It allows the treatment to be effective and simple, reducing the chance of pain, bruising or haematoma at the injection site.

Once injected, the product immediately starts spreading due to the high concentration of HA and its cohesive nature.

It flows and distributes itself evenly, rather than remaining where it is placed, naturally and without resistance integrating within your skin’s existing tissue. In order to achieve the best results and prolong those results, the two treatments are recommended with 4 weeks apart. Some people may see the results within first week, but the best outcome of the treatment will be visible 4 weeks after the second treatment.
